Ellyn Canfield is an event strategist who builds high-impact gatherings, movements, and moments. She has worked alongside renowned organizations and leaders to translate vision into strategy and flawless execution, harnessing media, storytelling, content, hospitality, and a little secret sauce to create lifelong memories.
Since founding Ellyn Canfield Events in 2025, Ellyn’s clients have included global nonprofits, think tanks, and the Zohran Mamdani Transition Team, where she served as Executive Director and Producer of his historic inauguration.
She then took a brief hiatus to join Mayor Mamdani’s City Hall, serving as Executive Director of NYC World Cup Strategic Operations, where she helped design and execute initiatives to make the World Cup more affordable and accessible to New Yorkers.
Previously, Ellyn led national event strategy as Vice President of Events at Penske Media Company’s Sportico in Los Angeles. Her public service career includes leadership roles in two NYC mayoral administrations, where she held roles including Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Citywide Event Management, overseeing iconic celebrations from New Year’s Eve in Times Square to the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Ellyn is a proud member of the LGBT community and has twice appeared on the NYC Pride Power 100 list.
